Solar Sisters are doing it for themselves – and now with a little help from their friends. Pursuing a joint vision to make renewable energy technology affordable and accessible, US company Palmetto has partnered with them to expand the delivery of clean energy to homes across Africa.

Palmetto is a rapidly growing clean technology enterprise driven to help Americans switch to solar power by facilitating access to information, finance and software to help them manage and monitor their installations.

“We’re trying to build a business model for subsidy-free, credit-free clean energy,” founder Chris Kemper told TechCrunch. In recognition of their streamlined approach, they have been backed by investment firm Energy Impact Partners and others.
